Tales from Broken Plates - an evening with Mark Lawson Bell
Have you ever found broken pottery and wondered how it got underfoot?
Mark Lawson Bell is an award winning artist who re-imagines the reality of objects from nature and the detritus of man.
His playful imagination will lead you to ponder just how such broken pottery finds its way to gardens, potholes and riverbanks. In his book, ‘Tales From Broken Plates’ he charts the final moments of 52 plates before each met its end. Some fragments were found in Cornwall, his childhood home, others further afield.
Mark will read you some of the stories, tales with humour, darkness and excitement, keeping you glued to your seat as he takes you on a journey through time, place and imagination.
Come and take a fireside seat in the Cafe, with something to sip on and a few tasty nibbles, sit back and be transported by Mark's expert storytelling. A wonderful evening, that will relax and inspire you.
