About Lydia Jones

After graduating from the prestigious Goldsmiths University Fine Arts Programme, Lydia spent 10 years freelancing within the film and television industry as a special FX film & TV make up artist, prosthetics designer and sculptor.

During a career 'break' and subsequent move to Berlin, the COVID pandemic hit. With limited materials and opportunity, she started investigating the art of paper sculpture. A readily available and more importantly deliverable material with a strong tradition and history.

This initial curiosity and opportunity to keep her hands busy became a passion, developing her own techniques from the traditions of kirigami, origami, paper cutting, embossing and folding this simple material.

Lydia has exhibited nationally and internationally. To see more of her work, take a look at her Instagram @lydia_jones_sculpture_studio
