People Partner

We have a new role! We're looking for a People Partner to work closely with our People Director, and, Head of People, helping support the different functions across the Enterprise teams. 

Job Description

Main purpose of role

To provide support to the People Director and Head of People, by partnering with all Enterprise functions, and develop a thorough understanding of the Enterprise area to provide support for a full people partnering service.

Position

The post reports to the Head of People and has no direct reports.

Scope of role

  • Responsible for all administrative tasks for the employee lifecycle including issuing contracts, change letters and filing
  • Process monthly payroll promptly and accurately with supervision from the Payroll, Pensions and Systems officer.
  • Maintaining HRIS and electronic files.
  • Support and maintain all Enterprise policies, procedures, processes and forms required to deliver a People service capable of ensuring that the Enterprise function discharges its duties efficiently and effectively. 
  • Advising on people strategy and agreed deliverables for the Enterprise areas into achievable plans and a prioritised implementation map. 
  • Establish effective relationships with business leads to enable you to provide valued interventions and insights on people management strategies. 
  • Support business area leads to develop learning and development plans for the Enterprise and liaise with the Head of Enterprise to identify gaps in levels of capability. 
  • Work with the People and Culture Team to introduce talent mapping initiatives and ensure that leaders and managers within the Enterprise are equipped with the skills and confidence to manage effectively. 
  • Work with, and bring in, specialists across the People & Culture directorate to respond to planned and emerging people and business objectives. 
  • Ensure legal compliance of all People processes and procedures and up to date knowledge of all employment policies and procedures and law and provide advice and input as required. 
  • Foster a positive working environment for all people working within the Enterprise function. 
  • Contribute to the Duchy’s strategic approach to diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) and work with the People and Culture team to actively embed practices which promote DEI 
  • Take on/lead any other projects as requested by the Head of People and Director of People

Person Specifications:

Education and Qualifications

  • Able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills in areas related to Human Resources, which may have been developed through experience or education (CIPD Level 5)
  • Proven Experience in a HR Officer/ Advisor role.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • The ability to deal with sensitive matters in a mature, confidential, and professional manner.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • At ease dealing with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of multiple teams, with both regular and ad-hoc deadlines.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to use own initiative

You will be able to demonstrate an ability to be organised and systematic. You must be able to build positive working relationships at all levels including with staff.  You will have the ability and confidence to work with minimum supervision. You will need to exercise tact and discretion.

Reward Package

  • Part Time 28 hours to be worked over 5 out of 7 days (Mon -Sun)
  • Salary £27,200 (£34,000 FTE)
  • You will be entitled to 28 days holiday including bank holidays for England and Wales
