We might be in the depths of winter, but there's still lots we can do.
  • Buy your seed potatoes and put them in a light, cool place to chit
  • If the soil is dry (?!!) and workable start preparing seed beds for early vegetable sowing
  • Cut back deciduous grasses before the new growth starts
  • Divide snowdrops as the flowers fade
  • Sow sweet peas, and protect from mice
  • Prune wisteria
  • Sort out your seeds and order new ones
  • Clear beds of debris before new growth commences
  • Spring-clean the glasshouse ready for the sowing season
  • There is still time to plant bare-rooted trees, hedging and soft fruit.

As always – happy gardening!

Sort out your seeds and order new ones.
