We are currently using Businesspost Express for most of our deliveries. Items up to 2.0m in height can be sent, which covers most things except for many of our trees. They also surcharge us for very heavy items which require more than one person to handle. This affects many of our large specimen plants. We will advise you if your order includes any affected items.

There may also be occasions when an item is simply too delicate to send safely, perhaps only for a certain part of the season, for example Bamboo with long new growths. Again, we will advise you accordingly.

Some items can be sent by first class post and delivery charges will be levied accordingly. The website is at present not able to calculate this charge automatically so we will advise you of delivery costs when we receive your order. Please IGNORE the charge shown at the checkout and on the automatically generated email confirmation if your order is for Duchy Originals or Duchy Collection Toiletries. We will advise you of despatch costs and await your go ahead before sending out your order. 
Typical costs are: for one bottle of shampoo, conditioner or handwash, £2.50; for two bottles £4.50.

Fuchsias
Fuchsias in 9cm pots, that's the £1.50 size (sorry, strictly fuchsias only) can be sent by post for the following costs:
1 Fuchsia P & P £3.50, £5.00 total.
3 Fuchsias P & P £6.00, £10.50 total.

Our carriage charges include insurance and a guarantee that people, not machines, will handle all our parcels.

Some plants, particularly trees and larger shrubs, are grown in much larger containers than our normal stock. Such plants are subject to a higher delivery charge due to weight and/or height restrictions. We will advise you if any of your order falls into this category.

Payment

We do require payment before we can despatch plants. We are happy to accept credit and debit cards or cheques.  We will not debit your card until the day your order is to be despatched.

Delivery

Most deliveries are made during working hours and require a signature. It is essential that you advise us of a safe place (shed, porch or somewhere out of sight) where plants can be left if no one is likely to be at home. Without a signature, plants cannot be left unless we have your instructions.
For customers off the mainland, i.e. Isle of Wight, Isles of Scilly, the above charges only apply if we can deliver to the nearest mainland ferry port. Please ask for more information if required.

Packing

We take every care when packing your order and expect our carriers to do the same. Please advise us immediately if you have any concerns.
