Hakonechloa macra
A lovely grass which slowly increases to make an arching mound. After colouring well in autumn it dies away completely so there is never a build up of dead material. This is the green form of the more often seen golden and variegated varieties. Best in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Height 15-30cm.
