Camellia 'Eric Baker'. (japonica)
Evergreen shrub. Large white double flowers in spring. Height 3-4m. Raised at Trewithen garden in Cornwall and originally known as Trewithen White. It was renamed and registered as 'Eric Baker' on the occasion of Eric's retirement as manager of the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery. A plant of it was presented to Eric by HRH Prince Charles on a visit that he made to the nursery.
Pot size: 2 litre. Height now: 40-50cm Soil: Acidic, moisture retentive. Position: Ideally part shade, full sun if soil conditions are good. Reasonable tolerance of coastal conditions. Growth rate: 20-30cm a year. Flowering period: 4-6 weeks in spring. Hardiness: Fully hardy though flowers will be damaged by frost.
