Camellia 'Compte de Gomer' (japonica).
Medium sized anemone form, white or pink with pink and light red stripes and flecks. Originated 1860 and is described as very large and perfectly imbricated with innumerable petals, so this may be wrongly named. Height 3m.

Pot size: 2 litre. Height now: 40-50cm Soil: Acidic, moisture retentive. Position: Ideally part shade, full sun if soil conditions are good. Reasonable tolerance of coastal conditions. Growth rate: 30-45cm a year. Flowering period: 4-6 weeks in spring. Hardiness: Fully hardy though flowers will be damaged by frost.
