Camellia 'San Dimas' AGM (japonica)
Upright, dense evergreen shrub. Semi-double red flowers, 17-19 petals with central petaloids and stamens. Early-mid season. Height: 2m. An exceptional variety, flowering over a long period and producing clear red blooms that really stand out.
Pot size: 2 litre. Height now: 40-50cm Soil: Acidic, moisture retentive. Position: Ideally part shade, full sun if soil conditions are good. Reasonable tolerance of coastal conditions. Growth rate: 20-30cm a year. Flowering period: 4-6 weeks in spring. Hardiness: Fully hardy though flowers will be damaged by frost.
