The Shop

The Shop

The shop theme was originally based around the idea of a ‘Potting Shed’. It was inspired by the building and interpreted brilliantly by the designer, Annabel Elliot, who furnished it using vintage furniture and recycled pieces from many different sources. Old Costermonger carts from Covent Garden sit alongside a 1930’s leather sofa and French dressers whilst old cabinets house the many products on display.

The merchandise ranges from everything the serious gardener needs, gardening gloves, secateurs, tools and string, to a unique selection of gifts and treats supplied by local artisan producers and contemporary young designers.

The eclectic mix of goods was chosen for its interesting history and eco-friendly background, many recycled from old buildings. You will find something for all ages and budgets. The children’s section, displayed around the Alphabet chest, features nostalgic wooden toys, knitted woollen animals and finger puppets, as well as a selection of great children’s books .

The Christmas stock is really inspiring and a wonderful collection of fair trade glass baubles and scented spiced wall hangings will help anyone get in the mood for the festive season.

If you really want to treat yourself the gorgeous handmade leather handbags from new designer ‘Mimi’ will be hard to resist and the ‘Kantha’ jackets, which are made from recycled saris, would be a great addition to your seasonal wardrobe!
