Herbaceous perennials - October time is planting time!

Though leaves are turning and flowers are fading on many of our favourite garden plants, October is a great time to be planting. In particular, we’re thinking about herbaceous perennials, those clump-forming plants that are at the absolute heart of beautiful borders and flower-filled gardens. These are plants that die back during the winter months to re-emerge in the spring full of vim for the next season. While they may not be looking as full of flower as they were a month or two ago, they still very much deserve your attention.

Plant perennials now and your garden will have the perfect head start next year. With the winter and early spring to settle themselves in the ground, they'll be ready and raring to go as the soil warms up in the new year. In addition, any perennials that you buy now have had the summer to fill out in their pots, so they’ll be good and chunky with a very well-developed root system – perfect for planting out right now.

The best news of all is that for a short time from 1st October 2017, we have a buy one, get one free offer on a wide range of selected herbaceous perennials and grasses. There’s Agapanthus, Achillea, Artemesia, Aster, Ajuga, Astrantia, Armeria, Aristea and we’re still only on the “A”s!

Pop in to see us and snap a bargain but don't delay as stocks are limited! All the plants included in the offer are marked and of any two you choose, the lower priced plant is free.
